 Welcoming A Preemie

When you find that a family that is close to you are dealing with the birth of a premature baby, the best thing that you can do is comfort them and offer your support at each and every step along the way. During this time, there are all sorts of milestones and obstacles that are important for their little one to reach and overcome. Parents of preemies really need the love and support of all of their friends and family members to help them through each day until their little bundle of joy is finally strong enough to make the journey home with them.

While preemie parents are spending a lot of time with their baby in the NICU, you may wonder if there is anything special that you can do in order to help them out. Offering to babysit any older siblings is always a welcomed gesture. In addition to that, they may even need you to come in for a little while and take them on a much needed break for coffee and a caring ear to listen to any of their concerns. You will find that all you have to do is be there for them and you will be helping more than you would ever know.

If you are looking for something nice for the preemie while still in the hospital, you can always look into something special such as a beautiful receiving blanket that is embroidered with the baby's initials. Such a cherished item could be an amazing comfort to the family to wrap their little one in during some of the many feeding sessions and then later on when traveling home.
